Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 April 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or playing Shoji you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game. Shoji is operated by Chris Jackson (“we”, “us”), United Kingdom.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Shoji on any device you own or control, solely for your own personal entertainment. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, sell, or sublicense the game.

3. Free game

Shoji is free to install and play. The game is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob — see the Privacy Policy for details on how that works.

4. No warranty

Shoji is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and freedom from defects. The game is a hobby project and may contain bugs.

5. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the game is limited to £0 — the price you paid. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages, including but not limited to loss of high scores, lost time, or device damage.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Shoji to do anything illegal, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it in any way that could harm other players or third parties. There are no other players to harm — it’s a single-player offline game — but the rule still stands.

7. Third-party stores

Shoji is distributed through Google Play. Your use of the store itself is governed by Google’s separate terms. We are not responsible for store outages, account suspensions, or refund policies handled by Google.

8. Termination

You may stop using Shoji at any time by uninstalling the game. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
